I have available for sale an older CCD camera. It is a Meade 416XTE monochrome unit that has the blue enhanced CCD installed. Pixel size is 9um as 768x512.
The camera may look a little odd as I've added four CPU cooling fans to assist the thermoelectric cooling. It can now reliably achieve 42degC below ambient in any orientation. The fans can be simply removed if required.
It comes complete with four Adaptec PCI SCSI cards (3 spares!) and SCSI & serial cables. Connection to the camera is via a "T" connection and a 1.25" eyepiece to "T" adapter is included.
I used this camera with MaximDL on WinXP (32 bit) for many years, however Autostarsuite V5.5 is available free of charge from the Meade site (214MB). This software includes a planetarium program and camera control for this camera (as well as the LPI & DSI). I have tested the camera with Autostarsuite on a laptop running WinXP (32 bit) over serial via a USB-serial converter (by FTDI) and it worked fine. Image download time was just over 50 seconds.
Reason for selling: I have upgraded to an ST8 at significantly more cost than the $95 :eyepop: (plus shipping) that I am asking for the 416.
