I had this in mind from the get go, but thought it might be hard to get a shot as you need to be on the road to get some good shots. Quite difficult when its a highway.
There are lots of burnouts around my neighborhood ( yep.... its not peppy grove) , but on a quiet late arvo I managed these shot in between dodging a few cars. Ha, I even had a shire worker stop and ask me what I was doing and if there was a problem. I told him I was taking a few shots for Iceinspace. He said " everything ok then?". I said "yep", and he drove off!
There are some great burnouts on the Great northern highway, but too busy and a bit dangeremus. I might have a go early morning.
Anyway......

Thank you to Al for picking this month's theme.
Wilfred Thesiger's (http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2003/aug/27/booksobituaries.obituaries) 1959 book "Arabian Sands (http://www.amazon.com/Arabian-Sands-Revised-Penguin-Library/dp/0140095144)" is a classic in travel literature and anyone who I have
ever spoken to who mentions that they have ever read it also often go on to say it is amongst their
all-time favorite narratives. A throwback to some earlier time, one of Thesiger's fantastic
adventures took place between 1946 and 1950 when he twice crossed the Rub' al Khali (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rub'_al_Khali) - the Empty
Quarter of Saudi Arabia.
Thesiger himself was also a superb photographer (http://www.prm.ox.ac.uk/thesiger.html).
A couple of paragraphs from Arabian Sands have always stuck in my mind when the topic
of prints and tracks comes up, so I have taken the time to transcribe them here and I hope
some readers may find them entertaining.
