Not being totally satisfied with my treatment of a rather large data-set linked to earlier, I decided to review the processing steps I made.

To be blunt, they sucked.

My PC groaned under the data weight of corrections for a few hours...the stitch is now pretty good....

I've made the end result in HD fomat (1920 pixels wide )...as for the vertical....well hope you havve a REALLY big monitor...:D

Hope you enoy the view here (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery106.html)

Truly excellent Peter. A mouse over to identify individual objects would really set it off I think.

Cheers

Whoh!. That's wonderful. I think I'm going to be swimming around in that one regularly exploring the bright nebs and dust trails. Stunning

I've already "discovered" Sharpless 2-54 out to the "left" of M16 (had the image turned sideways on the 3 triplehead to Go screens)

Yeh, looks great Peter, I like seeing the black gaps actually.

What's the nebulosity below M16..?

Looks good on my 50" TV but boy it's big.

I'll see if I can get a zoomify version up and running

Thanks Mike. I asked myself the same question, but the Sky 6 hasn't helped identify it at all

Ta. Yep, there are lots of bright and dark nebulae that I hadn't previously paid much attention to, but will investigate with some more FL! ;)

That's a pretty cool mosaic. What scope or lens did you use? It looks a bit like an FSQ as it is pretty sharp but it could be a good ED 300mm lens.

Thanks Leon

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it was indeed the FSQ-106. (New -Q)

Ta! :)

Sensational, Peter.

I can just imagine how much effort has gone into this.

What do you use for registration and stitching?

Nice vista. Love widefields. IMHO this are really shines in color. Ha's cool too though. So what did you do different. I remember that's old data from earlier in the year or even last year?

This is an epic piece of work. I'm well impressed. Silky smooth but so much detail to scan through..

I've been impressed with how much better PS5 is than earlier versions for astro mosaics but I shudder to think about it on something this big. At least being monochrome helps a good deal.. I can see why you're in no rush to do the colour version!

Geezzz, I see what you mean about not wanting to add colour. It would take weeks & weeks:lol:
This is epic Peter! Seriously.
It took 7.5 widths of my 24" screen and two wide to get through this mammoth image.

Great to see the windy water way in its full glory... B&W does do it justice!

Yes, could you say again how many frames and subs/frame this was please Peter? Monumental effort.
