There were a few frames of the HorseHead and Flame Nebs on my CF card from Lostock which I just processed today.

This is a Stack of 4x150 sec frames (10 mins total) at 800 ISO shot with the Canon 20Da.
Imaged through the little 80ED on a G11 mount.

Imaging in RAW mode is awesome and I highly recommend it.

As always I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions.

Great image. The colour balance look great. Yes RAW images are the go as they have every bit of information the sensor can get.
Were you using the in camera noise reduction? With my new modded 350D the in camera n/r is brilliant. I never had much luck with the manual dark subtraction on my 300D

Well done Andrew. As Scott said the colour balance looks good. Looks a bit grainy for iso800 or is that just from reduction to upload here?

Glad to see I'm not the only one that didn't check to make sure all his images were downloaded to the laptop

Thanks heaps guys for your comments.

Paul- yep you're not alone mate, Don't tell Striker though he'll hit the roof when he finds out how long I took to process these. :scared:

The grain is also there in the original too, it's my processing and the fact that it was a warm summer night. Ideally, I've read somewhere to switch off the preview screen and allow the camera to cool down between exposures, even as much as the exposure itself to minimise noise.

Scott- Yes I was using in camera NR but I plan to start using Flats and Darks too next time, I'm still learning but it's awesome to see some results finally.

Thanks Robby, Mike and Robin, cheers.

Robin I'll swap you for some of your fantastic shots, OK?

Nice Andrew....No need to worry how long you take as it only takes me about 15 mins to process 10 x 5 minute exposure's...thats using Imagesplus then PSCS2 then resized.

I dont find any benifit what so ever with the in camera noise reduction...just a waste of valuable imaging time wasted I believe.

Keep them coming Andrew....and come on give us some results with the Tak..I mean my Tak...lol

Hey Tony,
I now have your Orion and Running man shot from Lostock as a background on my computer.
It is awesome to look at.
Thanks buddy.

You will never stir me up with your comments on sausages, so give it up.
