Keeping with the obscure stuff, here's Sharpless 2-3 in Scorpius. I probably over stretched it a bit as the background is pretty noisy. I think this would require 3-4 times the exposure to get all the faint Ha in the background.

Cheers

Steve

Really nice Steve.

I've never even heard of those obscure catalogues!!! Sharpless, Gum and RCW? A lifetime of things to image out there :)

Nice shot, Steve. Doesn't look too noisy to me, although I'm pretty tired and my brain's in go slow mode:):P

I think some of that noise is actually really dim data in the background....probably more neb waiting to be revealed.

Cool shot Steve. What's your field size?

Boy it must be faint. Your gear has some significant photon sucking capacity and you may have had to stretch it more than you wanted. So for smaller aperture this might be well off the list.

Great photo Steve.

An amzing object.
Thanks for showing something new.

Thanks Ross

Thanks Paul. It's not all that faint actually and probably should have made the NGC or IC.

Thanks Marc. It's 22.5 x 33.8 arcmin

Thanks. I think you're right

Thanks Logan. This is the beauty of CCD imaging. There's lots of stuff out there that would be almost invisible without a CCD camera.

Haven't seen this one before. Dim little sucker. Good job Steve. Are you still using the same kit?

Baz.

Thanks Baz. Yes, still using the same stuff.

Nice shot Steve. A little noisy as you say but not that distracting. I would have preferred it to be centred though. Was it dim and hard to frame with a framing shot?

Greg.

Thanks Greg. I'm careless about framing <g>. I probably could have done better if I had tried harder.
