This one is 900 frames stacked out of 4000 total.
Seeing was not good hence the small # of stacked frames.Took note of Dave P's thread how he was now using more gain & gamma confidently, so I took the liberty of trying it for myself.
Normally I will use zero gamma & as little gain as I can get away with to minimise grain.
Brightness: 40%
Gain 25%
Gamma 25%
6" refractor & toUcam.

How are you still getting detail Asimov??? How many barlows have you got stacked to get that image scale now???? Great to see your perseverance

Thanks Paul.
I'm now doing the O'l venus trick. Shooting it just after the sun sets. If I wait till dark all I get is a wobbly orange blob with no detail because it's gotten too low in the 'mirk'.
Only the one 2X barlow & extension tube, but I have to resample in registax to get this scale. (1.3X)
Soon I'll be shooting it in broad daylight (if I can find it!)

A cracker of a Shot Asi!:) very clear albedo feature I assume must be Syrtis Major...
I saw the cloud map yesterday and the hole above SA and though :confuse3: hmmm wonder what Asi will be doing tonight...
well done! Must give the Twilight a go too - have to wait till the weekend as it's generally already getting dark by the time I get home during the week and by the time the scope's cooled getting past 8pm.
cheers,
you really gunna give it a try in daylight asi?

nice one,
i would have thought 900 frames will whip that grain away. my best saturn of 77 frames and jupiters are all 250 - 400 frames with high gain (50%) and gamma (50%)???
