Hi All,

Imaged Saturn last night in fair to reasonable seeing. The RGB & 807nm IR data set I have posted was bordering on good seeing.

This region of the storm is just behind the head of the storm which is over on the following or right hand limb.

Have also attached links to animations of all RGB & IR data.

Thanks for looking.

Well shiver me timbers sarman, up most of last night processing this Saturn data, hit the deck again at 4:30am to image Jupiter, another full day of processing and all you want to comment on is an edit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful stuff Trev as always.
Mid dawn this morning in the dome on the radio was a segment about
the DM awards travelling around Oz and calling in to BHill.
I heard your interview with the reporter, the award pics, Bird's impact on Jupiter recorded from your place etc....great stuff!

A full night with detailed results, encke looks there in first image and IR quality as usual. Storm looks lower contrast but still separates out into lumpy structure.

John.

Thanks very much David.

Thanks very much Derek, have posted the Jup's, it is IR data but has some quite fine detail.

Thanks very much Graeme.

Thanks very much Steve, I had the honor of opening the DMA exhibition in the local TAFE library last Tuesday night, certainly some stunning images. Have also been invited to give a presentation at this years DMA's in Parkes, look forward to catching up with David and Bird if he can get there.

Thanks John, as we move away from Saturn it seems harder to get the resolution we had back around opposition but in reasonable seeing there is still detail within the storm structure to be seen.

As I said in another forum, the best image I've seen from anyone for awhile. The resolution is right up there due to the seeing, not to mention 16" of aperture.

Good stuff Trevor, & good stuff on the heap of ! :D;)

Some are sent to test us - & some are not:lol:

Thanks very much Ray.

Thanks for the kind words Asi, I think the aperture does help when the conditions are good. I am sure you will also notice this when you get some good conditions with the 14".

Thanks very much Matt.

Ah, Trevor, your Saturn images and animations are delicious to eyes starved of planetary views due to my laziness! Thanks for posting your continuing stream of amazing images of these cold, distant, giants of our solar system.

I am astonished by your prodigious output, not to mention the exceptional details and quality of the results.:)

Cheers

Dennis
