Hi Brendan!
:welcome: to the forum! There's many an old AO'er here, so i'm sure you'll find some familiar faces :)
What type of scope(s) do you have?
Where abouts in the hunter are you? Anywhere near Koolang Observatory?
I live on the central coast.. a bit south of you.
Hope to see you back here often! :D
hi brendan. this forum is much more active. I came here because the AO forum wasn't reliable... one moment up then down then up...
no such problems here.
anyhow, good to see you here :)

A big hello to you brendan!!! Welcome to this forum, glad you found your way here. Brendan followed me here from AO you see :P
I haven't been to AO for a while either. Most of the regular posters have moved here (traitors! :P yeah that includes me :D) but I've seen some new users posting quite a bit on the other forums. Hope they find their way here soon.

Hi Brendon and welcome to our happy home :)
We have a huge thread "send in a shot of your rig" in the equipment forum. If you care to make a contribution, I know I and many others just love looking at astro gear and who has what :)

Thanks for the welcome guy and gals.
Ice, Im about 1.5 hrs north of koolang up round maitland way, but over the last few years i seem to have spent a large amount of time in that area fighting fires (Im a member of the RFS) so Im well versed on its location and the great dark skies it has there. Hey maybe some time this year we could orgainise a star party out that way for "local" members of this forum?
I currently use a 6" Optex/SW dob , 60mm Tasco refractor and a pair of 8x30 binos.

Brendan,
Firstly, welcome :)
A word of warning though, the combination of astronomy and RFS will wreck the rest of your life - spare time = zero. I'm in Woodford Brigade in the Blue Mountains what mob are you with??
Cheers

Hi rob, craig
Im a member of Lochinvar brigade, located about 10 min west of maitland.
I must say though rob, night patrols on dead fires can be an excellent time for some naked eye observations.
