As mentioned in an ongoing discussion about the latest HST image of NGC 5128 (in the Observational Astronomy forum),
there was an Australian symposium in 2009 that was totally devoted to this galaxy.

Fortunately for us, the text and images of each presentation are freely available as .pdf files at:

http://www.atnf.csiro.au/research/cena/programme

These pdf files contain NGC 5128 images at just about every conceivable wavelength!

This is a tremendous resource if we wish to understand this extraordinarily complex galaxy.

[ Some of the presentations were also reworked as scientific papers, and they were published in PASA, Volume 27 (number 4), 2010, but CSIRO currently wants $25.00 to access a single paper.
Some of these papers are, however, available as preprints ]

I posted this in the observational forum too...anyone interested can download the 6 large official posters from the Many Faces of Centaurus A conference in Sydney in 09 here: http://www.atnf.csiro.au/people/Angel.Lopez-Sanchez/pictures_cena.html

Look great on the back of your observatory door (or toilet)...and it's free this way (if you do the printing), I normally charge a ransom ;)

One more absolutely essential resource for finding out "everything you always wanted to know about NGC 5128 but were afraid to ask" is the following site:

http://www.mpe.mpg.de/Cen-A

This is a fabulous and very extensive collection of information, images, web links, and references(to scientific papers), all of it about NGC 5128.
