Great pic sonia :cool2: Hale Bopp was a bit poor in oz, Managed to get a few pic's though.

Ah Hale Bopp and Hyakutake, the two best comets of all time.

With Hale Bopp the average person could just go out there and see it, unlike most comets where you have to strain or have dark skies.

Might be another hundred years before another comes along as bright.

Like Mike and Humayun, I missed out on seeing this great Comet too.
I was only a baby at the time.

You might be thinking of Schwassmann Wachmann 3. Due to peak around mag 2.7 if we're lucky. Hale-Bopp peaked around magnitude -0.7 although as mentioned favoured the northern hemisphere.

But don't let that put you off. Some of the "prettiest" comets were not always the brightest. T7 Linear was a beauty with amazing detail in the tail.
