I'm not sure if this is really an improvement on my last effort. It's been a while since I tried this so just not getting the practice I need. Anyway, here is this evenings Saturn.

How many frames did you take?

I captured 2000 frames. I used Avistack2 and just over half of them ended up in the image.

For 1000 frames, that image is still very dark. Have you stretched the image at all to make it brighter?? Or you could fiddle around with the capture settings to make it look a little brighter and with a bit more contrast. Also, your focus is a little soft. Other than that, it's a very good shot:).

If you've got a barlow, try sticking that in the image train...you'll get a nice looking Saturn then:)

The AVI is quite dark, but I will reprocess and see what I can do.



If I wasn't fighting the mount to keep it in frame this would be a lot easier to concentrate on :)



This was with my 3x barlow :D. Perhaps I should have said this is with the 80mm refractor. I am ever hopefull that I can get something presentable out of it.

Ah, no wonder. I thought you did it with the Lightbridge!!!:):P

That would also account for some of the dullness. To get a nice bright shot through barlows, you really need aperture to drag that light in.

Had another play with it tonight.

1st one is straight out of AS2. 700 ended up in the stack this time.
2nd one I played with and upscaled. In getting a black background I now have no blue left.

Don't try to get a perfect black background. The sky isn't that way to begin with. Try to go for a blueish very dark grey....it's almost black.

Through an 80mm refractor that's probably as good as you'll get it. Good shot:)
