I know there's not much light in this, I need at least another hour of exposure - there's only 17 minutes here, but the subs are 2mins and 12 seconds - which is a first for me - got the SSAG going at last - the weather last night was clear and a bit blustery, but it held onto the track!
I'm impressed that I have eventually managed it.
I need to do a long drift alignment to get the wedge a bit closer to exact - but I think the machinery will manage it - last week it didn't look like I was even close - but I only had an hour to set it up then and that's not enough for the first time, to get the best foci for both camera and guider. Those OAGs are not forgiving

Well you have nice round stars at least. Well done & I'll look forward to more.

And there's some nice detail in the dust lanes too.
A pretty good first light if you ask me.
Congrats Jen.

good going for your first! Once you get the hang of getting everything set up you can try using PHD to help refine your polar alignment.

Have a look here (http://njstargazer.org/PolarAlignment.asp)

Cheers

Hi Jennifer,

Nice round stars...that's the hardest problem solved.

I think you will get some good photos with longer exposures.

Ross.
