Locked DVD Case

Ever had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a DVD and then when it comes time to watch it you find out that the cash register operator was too busy checking out what was happening 3 registers down to properly unlock the DVD case.

Well this happened to me and of course I wanted to watch the movie last night.
5 mins on the net brought up how to unlock the case using magnets from an old hard drive, which I happened to have. (cant use normal fridge magnets).

Some days I thank the lord for the net.

Also, nothing a sharp knife and a bit of care can't fix:)

well thats interesting i learn something new on here everytime i come to IIS :D but why cant you just use normal fridge magnets :question: :screwy:

Jen, fridge magnets are not strong enough to "lift" the internal magnets in the case. This has happened to me many times and I just pry them open with a sharp knife.
