Hoo Hah synscan eq 6 died on me

I was doing the desperate try to image hobart thing last night and tonight and after one year of solid service my EQ 6 /synscan just quit- first the buttons were unresponsive then the whole shemozzle froze up and wouldn't move for hours- I tried with different power inputs and even by bypassing on eqascom. It is the strangest thing, because as iI write this I have just heard the bugger start up ! no reason as it has been plugged in to the power tank and others tonight. WTF?
tell me it's the damp and and I will speed up my shed but it has been a sterling gent till now..

Graham, I am just about to start a thread regarding some funny business with my eq6. I've been re-greasing the bearings for the last couple of weeks now ( yes I'm Taking my time).
In short I have had some problems with the connections of the RA and Dec motors to the circuit board. At one time the circuit board beeped at me ( continuous) for some time before I turned it off. I dont think it has a speaker so WTF ????????
Maybe you are having a similar issue.....connectors coming loose.
Just a thought....

Don't panic, if you bought it off a skywatcher dealer and have an invoice you have a 5 year warranty ....
