Canon 550D @ ISO400
Canon 135mmL @ F4.5
37 x 2min exposures.
What a lovely piece of glass this is! Thanks to Ponders for the lend. :)

Added the repro.

How dark is your site? Are you in Kilcoy itself?
Impressive... makes me want to buy a DSLR sooner rather than an astro CCD camera later!! :)

Sorry to be picky, but I'd love to see the saturation come up a bit too Jeanette. Fantastic image though - love the star clouds and dust, not to mention that wonderful golden effect your getting come out so often now :)

Yes, I live on the edge of town though. I have a street light on the corner, but I set up behind the house, so it doesn't shine directly on the mount.
You can use the DSLR in the day time too. :D

Even with selective saturation, I can't seem to get good colour from the nebs. It all looks so artificial.
You guys are just too used to modded cams I think. :P

Probably what you mean by selective saturation, but bumping up the sat for just the blue, reds and magentas from Ctrl-U doesn't help a bit?
I'm probably a bit spoiled by PI too - lets you do non-linear saturation curves which is nice for boosting saturation in just the colour-poor parts of the pic.

Hi,

Very nice photos.
Sharp and so much detail.
I love the colours, especially in the second one. Your processing skills are excellent.

Thanks.

Ross.
