G'day All,

Asimov's close up shots of the creepy crawly world were great (did anyone see the latest David Attenborough - Life in the Undergrowth..now there were some awesomely close close-ups!!)

Below are some of my images that I was considering for this month's photo challenge. The last couple show 2 of the less common birds we have around our place, a Pheasant Coucal and a Tawny Frogmouth.

Peter.

Thanks Ving,

I like the frog...fattest Green Tree Frog I've ever seen, obsece infact. I was annoyed with the Pheasant Coucal, it's head is out of focus, what settings should I have used to get it all in focus? This is a big bird and the way it was perched means it looks a touch fore shortened. Anyway they all give me pleasure in the taking and the viewing.

Peter.

more what was you aperture set to with the coucal?

6.3 was the aperture setting...would I need a higher setting to to get that extra depth of field? The shot was a fluke really because the wretched thing was leaping about the place. That's what I like about landscapes ... they don't move and you have time to compose the shot.

yeah higher F/ will give you extra depth... you may have to increase iso or shutter speed, exposure time to compensate tho

Excellent shots Peter! I really like the close up of the eye.

Yes, I've been watching Life In The Undergrowth avidly, awesome stuff!

Not a cat person, but it would have got my vote - nicely composed picture.
