So, I bought the Tele Vue 2" 2x powermate. The first night the seeing was dreadful but I suspected it may have been the powermate but a couple of nights ago I gave it a spin and I have to say with a bit more tweaking (why is there always more tweaking to do grrrrr) I think it may just work out. My scope is a orion 102 premium refractor, not sure why it has the name premium though as I seem to get fringes around everything, even more noticable with the power mate. There is a lot of noise as I just used some darks from a library and they were not tempreture matched

Maybe tone down the high lights to make the stars more subtle. That should take care of the vertical banding too.
So many stars!!! Plenty of colour to them too. :D
