Hi all,

I'm a bit reluctant to sell since I've put a fair bit of money and time into this scope, but I've decided I need to downsize a bit to something a bit more portable (have my mind set on a Celestron 8SE) so I need to sell to fund this purchase.

I've done a few modifications which make it a real bargain IMO. Firstly, the standard Skywatcher focuser has been replaced with a JMI EV-1n Focuser (non motorised version) which is worth about US $343 plus shipping. Beautiful focuser I must say, with it's dual rate knob which allows for fast and slow smooth focusing. Comes with a 2" to 1.25" adaptor which was included with the focuser and also a ProStar 2" extension tube which I brought seperately.

Oh and I almost forgot, I mistakingly purchased a 5.75" drawtube for the EV-1n which I'll throw in as well as I have no need for it.

Second modification is that I went to the trouble of purchasing some self adhesive Protostar Flocking paper and set about doing the entire length of the scope as well as the edge of the secondary mirror. Turned out quite well I must say and it looks almost pitch black inside. Definately seemed to improve the contrast when viewing.

Now then there's the main part of the sale, the OTA! :) It's an 8" Skywatcher Black Diamond OTA of which I purchased from Andrews and still sells for around $350. It's in very good nick and comes with the tube rings and dovetail. The dovetail is a bit scratched up on one side as you would expect from getting plenty of use.

So a quick rundown of what's on sale in total:

Skywatcher 8" Black Diamond Reflector OTA (tube rings and dovetail included).
JMI EV-1n Dual Rate 2" Focuser (includes 2" to 1.25" adaptor)
ProtoStar 2" Extension Tube (45mm)
5.75" Draw Tube for the EV-1n
All up it probably cost me well in excess of $700+, but I'm happy to let it all go for $500.00 $450.00 $400.00 $350.00 including freight (which is free through work).

In regards to freight, I don't have the original box it came in but getting another suitable box and making sure it is packed properly is not a problem at all since I have access to boxes and packing material at work. And don't worry, I'm pretty pedantic when it comes to making sure things are packed properly so it will be safe!

Payment by DD is preferred but if you wish to pay Paypal you'll need to add 2.4% to cover the fees which if I'm not mistaken would be about $9 in this case.

Thanks for looking!

OK I've dropped the price down to $450 including freight. Would really like to sell this soon as my new scope is on it's way and my CC is feeling the pain! :) Thanks.

Ok second price drop as I'm eager to sell. Down to $400.00 including freight. Probably going to be the last time I will drop the price as I'll probably look to sell elsewhere. Thanks.

Ok I've had a bit of a rethink and I think I've been probably setting the price too high and being a bit stubborn in how low I would let it go for. And the bottom line is I need to recoup some funds for my new telescope purchase and need the space.

So I've decided to drop it down once again to $350 in total.

I know that's the same price as a brand new one from Andrews, but what your getting here is a 10 times better focuser than the standard Skywatcher, and a tube which has been lined with flocking material which is much better than at absorbing stray light than the cheap black paint Skywatcher use. A bargain really considering how much they cost seperately.

Thanks again.
