I've just noticed that the inside of my SkyWatcher DOB is covered in spots. Probably about 5ml in size. It looks like it maybe the result of condensation after a dewey night. It doesn't wipe off either. Anyone had a similar experience and could you do anything about it? Probably more to the point should I bother doing anything about it. I'd hate the tube to rust and it be my fault:(

"Spots in my tube"
Penicillin fixes everything.
Rust/corrosion spots are a possilblity, as is a fungus.

Perhaps let it catch some sun, are there many? I would tend to forget it unless it's fungus in which case you don't want it migrating to the primary

It's only 3 months old so it better not be rust:mad2:
I'll try antibiotics and a bit of sun. Can you point your scope at the sun and just not look through it or will it fry something?

Take the eyepieces out & put some material there - ut will get hot, don't leave it for too long, don't put things that can melt in either eg plastic
