Stuffing around with my SSAG while looking at the sun through our PST.
This is hack stuff compared to others, but I hadn't setup for video with it. This is just a screen cap from PHD.

Interesting proms. I'm in the process of emptying my HDD so I can get out there...

It was a "what if" point in time thing. The SSAG cant do video capture. Would have to get a real video capturing device for that.

Unrelated but related,
how fast do the prominence's move in a solar scope can you physically see them loop as if one was looking at a fire or is it more of a day by day movement?

No, they appear pretty static. You can see some movement after some minutes of watching. Those 2 frames are about 5min apart

Trevor is right
however, i have noticed that if i am very careful about how i observe the proms they can sometimes creep over the JND and i can detect subtle changes as they occur. Changes about width of a large prom or its height, but it seems to me it's more often that i notice the change when it is looped, such as one was today.
