Amazing Sunrise

A couple of images of an amazing sunrise here in Mt Beauty last Tuesday Morning. I just happened to look outside before heading off to work and saw this. The images were taken with my Olymous Utough 12MP point and shoot camera. Nothing done to them barring a resize.
Even captured a couple of Con trails from overhead planes. (one of the problems living here)

The white streaks are disipating con trails. Lower than the clouds thus white.

Amazing Doug - the colour is so strong it's reflected off the obs dome. You don't see sunsets like this one too often. Nice!

Thanks everyone. Nice place and looks great like this but this is the exception rather than the norm. I don't see too many mornings like this and usually just dont bother taking a shot but this was something else. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Thanks for the beautiful images.

Sunrises, viewed from the ground, normally never seem quite as dramatic as sun sets,
but this one is a fabulous exception. Beautiful! :thumbsup:

I say from the ground because now and then if you are sitting on the easterly
facing side of a plane after a long overnight flight, the sunrises often appear
quite dramatic as I surmise they are having to cut through all that atmosphere and cloud.

With fire hazard reduction burns taking place this time of year, perhaps there was
a little residual smoke haze to the east of you that may have helped with the colours?
