Well i'm pretty damn proud of myself. Three galaxies tonight. Sombrero, Cent A and the Southern Pinwheel (NGC 5236). Pretty good for suburban skies and no goto but I did cheat. Sky Safari on my iPad and my trusty Telrad;)

They were definitely faint fuzzies. Except for the dust-lane in sombrero there was very little definition but it was a cracker of a night:eyepop:
I'm about 30kms north of Brisbane so the sky-glow to the south means I can't see the LMC although I can find the Tarantula (NGC 2070) easy enough. Oh well we take what we're given

:hi:Greg,Come up to Cambroon on our next Astro night on the forth of June we will deffinitely show you some REALLY Faint Fuzzies;)
I used to live at Margate by the beach and observe below the wall on the beach:D

Well done Greg. You might have better luck with the LMC when it is higher in the sky, say Jan-Feb.

Thanks Guys. I'll just leave the LMC for a while. Well it's cold in Redcliffe in the moment. It must be DAMN cold in Cambroon:cold:
