Hi Markaus,

Nah ... load of rubbish for the most part. (insert tongue-in-cheek emoticon here).

... except of course for the Deep Sky Delights and Binocular Highlight columns that are brilliantly penned by an outrageously talented, exceptionally loquacious, good-looking but equally modest individual. (insert second tongue-in-cheek emoticon here). ;)

Best,

Les D

P.S .. see signature block.

We'd love to have you as a subscriber Mark if you are interested. Buy an issue or two at the paper-shop and if you like what you read and would like to have it cheaper and delivered, subscribe!

Hi All,

Mmmmm ... I believe the July 2010 issue is a stand-put on that front ... ;)

Yes it is worth it - my eldest son, like me, is always excited when it arrives in the post!

I think the only debate is whether to get the AS&T or just S&T. You certainly get more local content in AS&T, especially in observing guides, and contributions from Oz photgraphers but I think (and doubtless I'll be corrected if I'm wrong!) there is more news and science in the American version. If I'm right you need to decide what is more valuable to you - or get both.

+1 to the "yeps", loads of good articles and images and many toys to drool over :)

I used to subscribe to both the Australian and US ones, however, I have let the US one lapse as there is a very large overlap in content, perhaps 25-35%. The US one usually had an article first and then it would be in the next Australian issue. Even though my US one lapsed at the end of the year, there is still the ocassional article that I have already read, I suspect the overlap is over now though.

As for the price? Yes, worth it and don't bother with one year, go with two.

LOL, what a crack up Les. You forgot good bloke in your assessment of him.;)

I think I have almost got a nearly permanent subscription.

To Mark, it is the only mag we have here with quite a bit of local content. Well written and with interesting articles. Yes give it a go. The subscriptions are worth the money and you will get them every month.

I like to get both the Aus and Us ones but was getting tired of all the paper sitting around, but I've solved that by subscribing to the electronic version of the US one - cheaper and doesn't take any space. So I've still got both. Its a must for finding out what's going on around Aus (and coming in here, too, of course).

Hi Paul & All,

Thanks Paul, but one can only go so far in praising that fellow up of he'll end up with a swelled head. To the others that commented, thanks for your kind words -- except Ken of course! ;)

I keep promising Ken I'll get a new pic of myself for the head of my columns but consistently fail to deliver. One day Ken, one day --thought I'm not sure it will be any more attractive than the current one. There's no cure for having a head like a chewed pineapple.

Best,

Les D

I would second that (or 19th it, considering all the responses)

As a man, its very strange to experience PMT, but thats what I get every month before my AS&T arrives......

Pre Magazine Tension....

;)

Some bloke called Les also does some pretty cracking scope reviews every now and then, when they let him out to play....

Cheers

Chris
