Hi all, there is a very nice image of this in the Sky and Telescope may/june page 75. It has a very unusual structure, so had to have a go myself, with 14" LX200 at F6.3 and Astro 40D at ISO 800. This image is 18 x 2 minute exposures.
It is magnitude 11.2, with a diameter of 0.3' in the constellation of Centaurus.

Nice shot, Lester:)
However, instead of trying to image these small PN's at f6.3, you should boots the f ratio to go for a narrower FoV. You have the primary mirror to suck the light in at higher F ratios without losing too much contrast. Do a Fred and go for it :)
Grab a 5x powermate or a 3x barlow and whack it in the optic train :)
A nice capture Lester. The detail in it's structure is starting to show through.
Mag 11.2 is a nice challenge for a 14"

I did an observation report on this object earlier this month Here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=75403) and your
Picture confirms my observations :D
Cheers:thumbsup:

Hi Paul, Carl, Ric and Ron, thanks for your comments.
Yes good point Carl on using the F10 focal length to get a larger image. I will keep this in mind for next time.
Ron I read your thread on this planetary and only got the magarzine yesterday. Thanks.
This planetary although being mag 11.2, because it is so small, appears rather bright.
All the best.

Nice one Lester, you certainly like these little buggers. Good to see them as they are way to small for me to try.

Thanks Mike for your comments. Looking forward to some more clear skies to have another go at F10.
All the best.
