Central DS modified 40D

I am selling my central DS modified 40D.

The camera is a few years old now but still produces good images. The temperature read out (separate to the unit) does not want to work for me anymore but you don't really need it anyway. It has not done many iterations and is well under the covered amount for this camera.

These units cost $3000 at new but I am prepared to let this go for $1400. Near offers considered too. It comes with a AC power supply and all the cables you need.

these are still a great camera.. and it'd be hard decision to give up mine! SLRs since the 40D have chased smaller pixels so signal/noise performance has not gotten any better (sometimes worse) since then (except for 5DmkII).

for a 'serious' beginner who wants great results with the robustness and ease of operation of a DSLR and working with lenses (like this (http://philhart.com/gallery/Astrophotography/Nebulae/RhoOphMosaic_rz.jpg.html)) and independence from laptops etc this sort of camera would be high up on my list of recommendations. just my two cents.. (of course i have an interest in talking up the second hand market too :-)

Still for sale, make me a nice offer and the unit is yours. I would entertain offers around 1100 dollars and upward. I am not in a hurry to sell it, but selling it for a descent amount is my main aim.

Still no takers. Make me a reasonable offer and it is yours (I do mean reasonable though). The cooling and camera work great. It comes with an AC power supply for a 40D and all the cables for the cooler. The only thing that does not work is the weather station (LCD display) which is not part of the camera. It can be replaced by any unit bought at Dick Smiths or similar stores. Money back guarantee here. You pay for postage and insurance though.
