As you'll have seen, I'm in a selling frenzy - sets of steak knives with everything so to speak - well nearly.

Also on the block is my C14. Yep, it's not new. In fact it's old but that's it's virtue - it was made when good optics and Celestron went together. It's an original orange-tube C14 that I have enahanced by:

1. Adding BOTH a Moonlite focuser; and

2. A Micro-Focuser; plus

3. An American Scientific (with a Rigel illuminated reticle) finder (the original Celestron finder is with it but it's not as good as the new stuff out there).

4. Bob's Knobs; and

5. A replacement housing for the secondary mirror (courtesy of Starizona) so this scope is also able to take a drop-in HyperStar. The original C14's way predated HyperStars hence the need for a modification.

I am also selling a new series HyperStar which is currently confifured to work with an EdgeHD 14 but has with it the swap-out adapter that will convert it into one that works with the plain C14s. Buy both a get serious price advantages.

The C14 comes with a Celestron .63 reducer, the original Celestron diagonal that weighs a ton and that you won't use because the new ones are probably 30% of the weight.

I'm fond of this scope but I'm not using it and want to go in a different direction.

Someone must want to rescue this scope from oblivion.

You'll have to decide what you want to do by way of mounting arrangements. I'll throw in a pair of 14" profile blocks but you'll need to get your own 14" Losmandy bar.

OK. Prices. The scope and the various mods mentioned represent a cost to me at well over $5 grand but I'm not going to haggle - I want it sold so I will bring that down to a ridiculous $3500.

The HyperStar can go for another A$1200 or, if you buy both together, I'll sell the lot for $4500.

Freight and insurance will be a buyer's expense.

Dear Peter,

I am interested in a C14 Orange tube for my observatory.

Your unit seems ideal for my application.

I would need to see photos of this system to asses it, plus also consider cost delivered to Melbourne (if you need to consider shipment I recommend you contact your local Fastway Couriers branch - via www.fastway.com.au (http://www.fastway.com.au/) )

I have rejected previous models due to costing in comparison with other options and also condition, so I would also need a condition report with some really good pics of the system as well.

Plus finally your best price delivered to Melbourne.

I am a serious buyer and own the largest collection of premium, exotica and historically relevant telescopes in the southern hemisphere.

I would be paying via direct bank deposit.
