Hi all, came across this.
http://www.space.com/11310-huge-asteroid-2005-yu55-passing-earth-november.html
Note it passed closer to us in 1976 but wasn't detected. Could not find out its magnitude during close approach.

Tough one. According to the ephemeris, we don't get it until the evening of the 9th - initially, moving fast at 2.5 arcminutes/min, mag 11.4, BUT there is a near full Moon in the sky, not far away from it. By next evening (10th) it is mag 13 with a full Moon, but moving a lot slower.
Cheers -

Thanks for the extra info on this one, Ray and Rob. The Full Moon really puts a spanner in the works.

Be aware of another NEA - (1036) Ganymed, which would be within a range of 8-10 mag throughout the autumn 2011.
