Anyone know if these are available here:

I haven't seen them advertised, but they look pretty useful and at a reasonable price.

Actually, I just found them at 'My Astro Shop'... for $500!!!!!!
Thats $200 MORE than in the UK ($289 converted) - and they pay higher duty and tax than Australia. Shipping would be just shy of $135 according to FLO.
You know your being hosed when something costs less in the UK than here! And retailers gripe about on-line purchases from abroad.

I also included a drawing I made of my mount in case you need sizes.

This site:
http://www.asignobservatory.com/
has a DYI page on a simple mod for existing piers using the tripod head. I just set it up and it appears very solid.
Instead of the tripod bolt I got a matching 5" bolt and nut. Attach the nut first, thread bolt up into the mount and fasten from underneath with the nut.
Only problem for me is it is quite tall with my 1.8m observatory walls. Scope has to be below vertical to open and close the roof. Will have to try and figure out how to custom park in the horizontal. Manual is no use here.

I built my own for less than $50 but I have the gear to be able to do stuff like this. I dare say a lot are not in my fortunate position.
Coupla pics for what it's worth. It holds both the CGE & EQ6 mounts.

Tension leg piers are way more stable than the other type.
Mine was originally made for a Vixen Sp-DX, now modified for an EQ6
