Good morning.

Yesterday I tried to shoot the Moon with my dslr and a big barlow 2x on my bintel dobson 300.
Here is a mosaic of 4 images (1/100s, iso200).
Thank you in advance for your comments.

Oh did you have to move the mirror up the tube to focus, or does the barlow allow it come to focus?

Thanks Mike and Liz :)
Hehe, Mike, I see you already had this focus problem with a 12" gso newt ;)
As the only way I have found to move up the primary is to cut the tube and I'm not sure to do that properly, I use a barlow 2x to pull the focal plan further out of the tube.
The counterpart is that focal length jumps to 3000 which is too much for the Moon.
There is maybe another solution, using a low profile focuser...

So sharp!
Have you thought about using longer screws to push the mirror up?

Thank you Tilly and Ron.

Tilly, I suddenly feel a bit stupid... never thought to use longer screws.
I'll check that !
One more thanks :)
