Wow.
What a sight this morning as I looked to the East at 5:30.
5 planets rising, although I could not be sure if I could see Uranus, but the others stood out really well against the brightening horizon.
Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Mars.
What an awe inspiring sight they are.
Mike.

I seem to have posted this in the wrong place.
Can someone please move it for me.
Hasn't this web site grown a lot along with it's membership.

This seems to be the right place - where did you want to put it?
And it was a beautiful site.. I was down at Circular Quay looking over to the Opera House and the 4 planets, just lovely. All it needed was a crescent Moon :)

I thought it might go in the section for upcoming celestial events, but no matter Mike.
It was quite spectacular.

Having my 3 grandchildren visiting I was able to be up early and thought I might look for the Eta Aquarids. Saw two fast streaks and later around 5am watched as Venus and I wasn't sure which other planets, rise in the east. Thanks to the threads I now know. Simply stunning!!!

I didn't think I had any chance of seeing the planets in the morning, given Melbourne's weather recently. However, I was up at 6am this morning, and there was one break in the clouds: Venus and Mercury, Jupiter ever so bright and faintly yellow, and a little red Mars just above the tops of the houses! It was one of the most awesome naked-eye sights I've had from the inner city.
