Attempted this galaxy after M104 shots as I thought it had risen from the murk of BrisVegas but although its given mag is 8.3, that must just be for the core as its really faint and took a great deal of stretching to bring it above the background of light pollution. I suspect Ive lost quite a bit and so this object needs desperately to be imaged from a dark site but at least a decent set of flats gave me something.
Just 20x10 min of Luminance data. 10"SCT at fl 2500mm.

I think Alan you are the new Greg ....you are pumping out the images.....I hate you :mad2:
Yes, this galaxy is one for darker skies but there is still plenty to see in your shot, nice work and worth having a crack at after M104.

Nice one Allan.
Yes 6744 is a faint one. The core is bright but those spiral arms are very faint.
Nice detail though.
Greg.

Still not too bad Allan. Good detail but faint. Dark skies woudl give you all you need. I like the image scale.

Mike - still :love2: you despite what you say. Just had 3 clear nights and now the clouds have rolled in again. That may be the end of my run for a while.
I may try colour with the QHY8 to see if I can add to this shot
Thanks Marc
Thanks Greg. I'd tried before with another camera but didn't realise how the light pollution would really cripple pulling detail out of the murk.
Want to see the image scale of the 12"???????????????
Coming July???????????
