I have it (well, mine is MTO-1100A,, very similar and from the same manufacturer, see here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dimatsvetkov/2239546974/)).
It is good, but not excellent.... good price/performance ratio, this is for sure.

haha well there ya go! here am thinking ive stumbled across this obscure thing.
Looking at your posts it seems a pity about the construction, such a great and innovative idea ruined by dodgy construction.
I noticed as the posts go on you modified it to produce some decent results, thats good but still you would think from day 1 it would be good.
I wonder if telescope makers would ever consider a remake of these but using better techniques of todays modern scopes.
I know there is still lots of research going into catadioptric optics. I was reading some where someone was making some cata optics the size of a human eye lense to allow optical zooms on mobile cameras etc with a future potential for implants to allow people to zoom their own eyes!:eyepop:
anyway interesting technology. maybe 1 day id get one if not for the practicability of the device but more for the interest and innovation of a 1m focal length in a tiny package similar to what 3 and 400mm lenses come in.
