Stack of 7 unguided 5 minute subs. I still see lots of flaws, but my best shot so far of this object. I was not using the Tak field flattener, which shows up in the edges a bit.

Hi Rob,
It is nice shot but your backgroung is too dark (black) !!!
You should re-process again !

Agreed, you have clipped it quite a bit. But looks to have loads of potential.. Please reprocess :)

aye, that back ground is definitely too dark Rob.

You've got a fabulous setup there. -nooiice.
Just a processing error called black clipping where you've moved the right hand slider of levels or whatever the equivalent is to Photoshop and
it made the backgound blacker but it took out a lot of the dimmer parts of the image with it. Those dimmer parts need to be preserved when doing the processing. There are tutorials about how to do that.
I think Louie on this site has done some about that under levels/curves.
Greg.

Ackkkk.. I thought space was supposed to be black... :) Thanks you guys (and JJJ). I appreciate the feedback. Now that I look at the image I see what you mean. I'll reprocess when I get back on the astro laptop. Rob

OK. How is this? There is a bit of noise showing up and some ccd artifacts, but I think it goes a long way towards fixing the black clipping problem. Thanks again for the feedback... Rob
