Time for a pleasant ride instead...

Loving the Moog synthesiser as I always have, Humayun (Octane) last night sent me this link to a YouTube movie set to Moog electronic music against a space-themed backdrop. It's 23 minutes long and the score is a collaboration between synthesiser wizards Pete Namlook (aka Peter Kuhlmann), Klaus Schulze and Bill Laswell. It's off one of their twelve theme albums based on their synthetic re-interpretation of Pink Floyd's albums - this one called "The Dark Side of the Moog - the Final DAT". These guys have been doing this since the 70's and are, uhmmm... rather good. :)

Take a look - I personally loved it. You'll need a decent internet connection and a good set of speakers or headphones to do it justice:

Enjoy!

That will have to wait until I get home. But I am surprised to hear Bill Laswell refered to as a synthesiser genius - I alway thought he was a rather excelent bassist.

Sorry David - yes, you're right - his contribution to this exercise is as bassist of course. He's pretty well known for his collaborative "collision" efforts.

Glad you liked it. ;)

Plenty more good stuff coming your way soon.

Discerning music for discerning people. ;)

While you're at it, look up Bill Laswell's Axiom Ambient - Lost in Translation.

Magic.

I thought that perhaps he had more than one string to his bow (and 4, 5 or 6 to his bass :D).
