Hi all,

Smitty from Canberra here. Just joined the forum as my interest in astronomy and all things space has been revealed after many trips to the CDSCC at Tidbinbilla.

Just thought I would get out the old 10x50 binoculars tonight for a look around, and after finding Saturn, decided to have a wander, and I think I spotted the Jewel Box Cluster just below Crux!!! albeit very blurry, but how cool!

Need to update the machinery I think.

Welcome Smitty. There are 'pockets' of astronomers in the Canberra suburbs. Elusive creatures :) Plenty of info on this website if you're looking at buying gear. The 'Search' funcion is your friend.
