Hi All, well I had to have one more go. Mars at a massive 8 arc seconds is a challenging target, but Asi put the challenge out there with his recent post and of course I'm honour bound to reply ;)
4x powermate, stacked just under 1000 of 1800 frames, 10fps, 1/10sec exposure, seeing was woeful and peaked at 4/10 for this avi. Still a bit of detail and I think I can see the south polar cap (at top here) starting to re-emerge as Mars starts to cool again....hmmm maybe imagination?
Actually did the Tri-fecta last night, got a decent Saturn and this morning under almost daylight snatched a bit of Jupiter. Tried a range of exposure and have some good detail on the Joop, but for some reason I have onion ringing down one side - perhaps an effect of shooting in blue sky? - will post later.
cheers,
