:rofl::rofl::rofl: Cloudfree :rofl::rofl::rofl:
:sadeyes::sadeyes:

I got up at 4 wanting to get a rising moon over a Newcastle icon -Nobby's but it was raining. So stayed indoors for the next hour - it cleared slightly with fine mist falling, then at 5.20am an act of diviness happened - the clouds parted revealing a sneak preview showing the crescent moon and two planets, then a small hole and two more appeared. Shot hurriedly from my front veranda with a gorillapod and not my best choice of lense - but it was attached to the camera.

Better than nothing, but looking at some of the other excellent shots of this event, mine is somewhat rather poor. Best intentions, but executed in front of the squad:P best pic i got was the icon for the observatory later this morning

Love the last one with Jupiter and Mars peeking through - well done David. Great Mars colours too.

thanks - what was out of shot in both images was the light rain falling over me at the time - fully clouded directly overhead. I wish this weather would end - bring on some stable clear high pressure systems

Nice photos Dave – what a narrow window of opportunity; truly, the gods were smiling down on you today!

Cheers

yes it was Dennis - thanks. i had it all planned - to shoot from above Blackbutt reserve overlooking Newcastle and Nobbys where the conjunction was all lined up - it would have been a shot similar (but not as well executed - his are awesome)as Stephen M. oh well
