With the full moon up it was time to try out the new camera with the Astronomik 12nm Ha filter. As soon as the clouds clear we'll grab some RGB as well.

Horse head is 7 x 5min with darks and lights

Ngc 3576 is 12 x 5min with darks and lights

Taken with the G2-8300 and W.O. FLT 110mm refractor.Captured with Nebulosity/Nebulositysequencer, processed in Photoshop CS3

Taken and processed by Matt.

Thought we better put the horse around the correct way:rofl:

Comments welcome

Beautiful images Geoff. He's processed them really well. But I have to say it looks really weird seeing the HH mirror reversed.

Hi Geoff,

Lovely images and I especially like the NGC 3576. I'm going to have a go at this when it fines up. How do you like the Flt. I still think they are a great scope.

Thanks Paul, he's done well with the processing, just need more data(as usual)

Mark, I really like 3576 as well, just need a few hours to get some RGB data. Yep, still love the FLT, at this stage I'm waiting for an adapter to connect the new camera with the TMB flattener which should fix some star elongation

Thanks Rick, really love this camera, just wish the clouds would clear long enough to get the colour data

Very nice. Your Horsehead is back to front though.

Greg.

Is the horsehead still around

Yeh nice work indeed, actually cool to see the HH in such a strange orientation

Nice shots Geoff and Matt. Looks like you've got the hang of that new camera and Ha imaging pretty quick.

Good stuff mate. Is NGC3576 mirrored there as well? I think it is.
Did you use FITS Liberator? I think it flips FITS files or something.
