Hey just a few happy snaps taken between clouds passing over.

The Alpha Centauri shot was the very first of the night.
Unsure weather that is a saturn moon or a distant star.
They aren't processed except for zooming in a bit.

So have a look. Any advise welcome.

The Details:

Taken with a Canon 550D DSLR through a 10 inch Skywatcher Dob

Always a great experience to get those first pics. Well done and welcome to the club! :D

Nice to see some dob astrophotography going on too. I've seen some amazing pics through dobs so don't be discouraged by all that "must have a GEQ mount" talk! ;)

You'll notice the lengthening of the stars due to our rotation (or perhaps movement of your scope). On a dob you will need to keep the exposure length shorter and compensate by setting a higher ISO.

Each time you go out, do a few at different settings and see what the results are. Each object is different so just keep experimenting.

Cheers,
Carl
