It was not that long ago that I could cover an active region with the 640 x 480 sensor of the Skynyx or have to do a two panel mosaic, but now some active regions are starting to cover the size of the larger sensor I have and I am not using maximum magnification like I was with the skynyx.

This active regions is pretty large and has some really great features. Lots of magnetic field lines and complex structure. I am hoping for a better view of it tomorrow and some really steady morning seeing.

Fabulous shot.
Just try to desaturate a bit 'less color, the rest is a fantastic detail.

Whoa, thats very cool, well done. I know nothing about Solar imaging, but that looks very pro.

Hey thanks Fred. I hope to achieve this level of detail on a full disk mosaic at some stage.

Great image Paul.
I was wondering if you had compared imaging with and without the doublestack? Specifically, I am wondering whether cranking up the contrast of a single stack image in post-processing replicates an image taken in doublestack mode, or whether the doublestacking lets you image features that can't be done in single stack mode? I am considering double stacking my scope, but as far as I can tell at the moment, the double stacking helps with visual and maybe not very much with imaging. Any experience you can pass on would be greatly appreciated.

Great shot Paul..
Your pictures inspire me to not smash my setup and just keep plodding on. Hope to meet you at the society someday.
