With all this talk of new equipment lately I took the plunge and have decided to replace my GM-8 with a nice big, black G-11, ordered it today..................HELP, what have I done!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to use the GM-8 as a grab and go mount.

Don't worry, you'll be enjoying the G-11 long after you have forgotten the pain of the purchase price ;)
Nice one John.
I've used Louie (Atalas') G11 and I love it.
Well worth it.

I am sure I will be enjoying it, especially since I will be placing a Mewlon 250 on it in due course.

Any chance you'll be selling the GM-8 to recover some of those $$$$:)

Onya John. I'm in exactly the same boat. Bought a G11 and kept the GM8 for that "Grab and Go" Scope. As if an astrophotographer can ever just grab and go
Now just think. All you'll need now is another camera, another ToUcam and another laptop and you can be imaging on two mounts at the same time. You can make the most of it when you get those good nights
Though by the look of you signature you've got the camera situation well in hand

Matt,
Yeah, I was thinking about it but have decided against selling it, I will be taking the Gemini off and putting the stepper motors back onto the GM-8.
Paul
I really don't think I can justify another camera although a 2x and 4x PowerMate would be nice.

If you're taking the Gemini of the 8 and putting it on the 11 you might want to consider a StarMate to increase the functionality of the standard Losmandy Digital Drive on the 8. http://www.star-mate.com/starmate.htm

Why not Robby. Credit where credit is due. I don't know how those with similar rigs don't go not so slowly mad without a StarMate.
