This is my first time imaging this amazing object. It consists of 16 x 1 minute frames through a C11 at F6.3 and a Canon 450D. Minimal processing used (levels only) whch is about the extent of my processing knowledge.

Thanks guys.
Interestingly, the camera does not pick up any colour on this object so it appears in B&W almost - pretty much how you would see it at the eyepiece through a decent dob. It may need LRGB imaging to pick out the subtle yellow stars. Anyone any experience with dslr imaging of this object?

John
the colour is there you've just need to process it correctly, if you have a look at the histogram in PS you'll see it's really far to the left which is refered too a clipping the black point, you should be aiming to balance the RGB in levels, curves etc so you have a nice bell shaped curve in PS histogram.
A lot of articles on the web about processing DSLR images
one of my first sources was

it might be helpful
