The dew was quite heavy which cut the imaging short:

Scope: Tec160FL with out flattener
CCD: STL11k
Ha: 4x 20min
OIII: 2x 20min
SII: 2x 20min
Filter: Astrodon 3nm

I managed to add some additional data to Ha and SII but without any additional data in OIII it was harder to process the full FOV. So I only processed a part of it that suited my taste. Data now includes

RED: SII 5x 15min, 2x 30min
Green: Ha 4x 15min, 3x 30min
Blue: OIII - 1x 15min

How did u combine the data ? I've just got some O and S data i want to add to my ha so .... :)

How do you like your 160FL? I have a 180FL and its a wonderful scope.

That is Epic! THe processing is exceptional. A real testimony to NB imaging. The Eta doesnt always look quite right in NB but you have nailed it! Inspiring rendition.

I mapped SII as Red, Ha as Green, OIII as Blue and then changed the weight of Red and Green to my liking.




I love it Greg :) , I read your review on TEC180FL before buying this. As you mentioned in the review I agree the rings are probably something that needs some getting used to, hopefully I won't have to slide the scope any soon. Its also probably a bit too long with for my POD with dew shield fully extended.

Its nice to know there is another premium scope in Oz.

I wonder if AP rings would fit the 160. The AP rings IMHO are the best on the market. I got some rings from APM in Germany for the 180. They are a bit overengineered but very strong. However the rubber grip rings they put on the knobs degraded and fell off. Still the rings work well. Got to be careful with Yuri's rings. Lots of posts of people scratching their OTAs on them.

I notice no flattener and whilst its hard to tell with the narrowband it appears you have no or very little coma there. Is that the case or is the narrowband hiding it a bit?

I was actually using my Tak TSA102 flattener. The flattener can keep stars round up to 1/3rd mark i would say and if you would have definitely noticed it if it wasn't done in narrowband. 2" flattener also vignetting the FOV quite a bit. Hopefully I will get the real flattener by end of next month.

Yuri's standard flattener works like a charm. I am surprised he is so against reducers. It would be nice if he made a nice reducer like the AP155TCC which is the best reducer in the business. But its very specific so it may not work on the TEC's - then again it might - hmmm, Precise Parts adapter coming up??

very nice Sadia. Now I know why you are getting rid of the Tak. This should be a lovely scope and has a nice focal length to match this big camera as well.
Looking forward to seeing more from your new beast.

Yep I agree. If you remember I asked you about what sort of performance you got by using the Tak reducer on a TEC scope. If i ever end up owning a TEC reducer in the future I will try it on for sure.

They are completely different but both look cool to me!

Just goes to show how much latitude we have with wavelength ordered colour paletts, you can have so much fun with various combo's. My recent data set mixing frenzy on Eta produced a few different way out colour combos, most stayed on my hard drive though :P it's great fun :thumbsup:

The 160FL is showing its pedigree there. That's the current world premium 160mm scope you've got there.
