I have to say, I find it a great honour to have such a magnificent telescope which carries my name. :D :lol:

When is this due to replace hubble, does anyone know?

Laurnch about 2015 Suzy and fancy naming it after you:D:thumbsup:
The date keeps getting put back as it is running over budget and other difficulties:(
It will be in a stationary orbit 1.5 million kms from earth.

Its a pity its taking so long. I can't remember the original launch date but I think it was sometime this year. Then 2013. Now 2015....
I am REALLY looking forward to the results.

How could it not run over budget when it is named after Suzy:P Sorry Suzy I couldn't resist:scared3:. I mean that you being a fashion plate you have to have the best clothes and accessories. You also have to impress JOHN:D

I wonder what the contingency is for repairs and services?

I think it's a little to far to send a shuttle or whatever may replace them.

I think that is why it is so overdue I saw in a doco that no repair will be possible so they are making sure that every possible problem is thought of and dealt with because once it is out there it is on its own.

Ric! there is no plans to repair it,if it breaks down then thats it:sadeyes:
At 1.5 million kilometers from earth nothing can get there at the moment.

How scary is that.

From the day it lifts off to first light I forsee a lot sleep deprived and nervous engineers and scientists.

Yeah they can't afford another start like the Hubble got a lot of people will be stressed and worried until they get that perfect image like I know they will fingers crossed:scared2:
