View Full Version here: : Cross Country Parcel Service ?
Hi Guys,
I know it's been asked before, and answers have been provided before. But can anyone please tell me if they've managed to find a courier company that will transport goods interstate at a reasonable price for those one-off items that we have from time to time.
I'm talking about goods which may be too big for Aust Post such as OTAs etc
Many thanks

'Transdirect' NORMALLY does a good job at quite a reasonable price.
That said, the last item I sent took much longer to arrive than anticipated.
I'm giving them another chance tomorrow and if they botch it, I'll let you know.
Actually, my buyer will probably let ME know. :O
Others have reported good results with Toll, but I've not used them.
Yep I have used Toll a number of times and have had good results. also Vic Fast, but that is from Victoria.
Paul you may or not know but Australia Post will accept parcels to the weight of 20 kilograms and size dose not matter, but they wont guarantee safe passage.

Unfortunately size does matter Leon. I once tried to send a boxed up Synta 150mm f/8 scope (weight ~15kg) via Australia Post and they wouldn't accept it because the package was too long. I forget the exact maximum dimensions they allow but they are listed on their website.

Ohhhh! Strike threeee.
Don't use "Transdirect" couriers.
Didn't pick-up.
Don't answer the phone.
Doubt I'll get a refund.
Yes guys,
it can't be more than 140cm around the greatest dimension from memory. But thanks for the suggestions anyway guys, - keep it coming.
Cheers,

Couriers Please now do a door to door service but I have no idea how much they are as I haven't used them myself.

Greyhound Freight is another. I haven't used them for many years but they were pretty good. According to their FAQ they can take a maximum of 25kg and 200cm x 100cm x 80cm dimensions.

Hope these help.

Hi,
i've used Interparcel to transport a telescope from sydney. worked out very cheap and reliable.
they book through TNT road or other reputed couriers who wouldnt normally take direct orders from non corporate accounts. i've tried.
