SPX350 F34.2, PGRFlea3, Astrodon filters, IR742nm.

Seeing was like 10th April showing promise but not settling then for an all too brief period it went very steady so I trashed the partly run red and went again and it stayed steady for the whole 80secs vibrating but not going out of focus so must have been near 9/10 seeing, green and blue where reasonable and IR not as good.

Found Regx6 gives smoother sharper rings but Regx5 still gives better disc detail which is a pity as R5 is 2-3 times longer processing time.

R RGB resized 125pc - 1344hrs UT.
IR742nm - 1311-48hrs UT

Thanks, John.

A super RGB there John, lovely depth of detail right across the image.

Reckon nice stable air, even if only for one channel, sure does make a difference.

R6 is certainly a different animal to R5 but I think it has great potential especially with its ability to successfully map an image with multiple alignment points.

Most excellent work.

Fabulous image John. Rings details are excellent and I think I can see Enceladus below left.

Very nice image John. Heaps of sharp detail but just a little on the green side.

As for Reg6, not over joyed with it. It removes a lot of controls that I like and the mapping is no better than any other registax since it was introduced. Besides I worked out a long time ago how to get seamless images with mapping in earlier versions of registax. Also not keen on the removal of the reference frame feature. I found it useful but it was removed because others thought it was not. In general it seems like reg6 is designed to do automatic stacking without any control over what goes into the stack. I will not be using it until proven it is superior to reg5. Personal opinion really.

Well done again John on getting some nice data again.

Great image mate, but a tad green here as well.

Thanks everyone, this may be my best image and I noticed a little green hue in the storm detail and disc but if I alter I find it goes pink so not sure how to get it right, all this helps my experience as I recognise my processing is not great but hopefully improving, tried a more natural look this time. Dark patches on disc either side on back rings are strong too.

I also liked the reference frame element in R5 Paul as at this level of imaging its judgement and control that matter and having that taken away feels not quite right somehow. Anyway needs more testing and Regx is great software we all agree and plenty of versions to choose.

John.
