There must be more to it Warren. There are are 58 occurrences of Jul 29 being a Friday (and hence the 30th-31st being Sat-Sun) in every 400 years (Gregorian calendar).

Think I've got it. Jul 1 and Jul 30 are both New Moon.

Can we call this a Blue Anti-Moon?

Just to make sure I am on the same page, is the suggestion that a year in which
5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays occur in the month of July is a very rare
occurrence?

Since July always has 31 days, this would only occur in years when July 1st
happened to be a Friday.

So again if I am on the same page, is the suggestion that years in which July 1st
is a Friday are rare?

A quick check revealed that 1st July 2005 was also a Friday and that month had 5
Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays.

A quick check ahead reveals that 1st July 2022 is also a Friday and that
month also has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays.

I got this trivia from someone on face book and not being very mathimaticaly minded. I couldn't work out if it did have that time span correct so you have blown the 823 years thing out of the water thanks for that it seems it is not that rare after all.:thumbsup:

Take a look at whole year calendar, it is visually more obvious.
Every month with 30 days has 2 days of the week which will occur 5 times. Every month with 31 days has 3 days of the week which will occur 5 times.
This happens each and every year, it's just the particular days that change from year to year.

Here is some calendar trivia which is true -

Question: Which month of which year from Jan 1600 to Jan 2011 only had
two Sundays and two Mondays?

As an additional clue, this particular month also only had three Tuesdays, three
Wednesdays, three Thursdays, three Fridays and three Saturdays.










The answer is, of course, September 1752.

Notice how the 3rd of September to the 13th September inclusive are entirely missing.
A whole 11 days.

This came about as a result of The Calendar (New Style) Act of 1750 in the
English Parliament. There is a Wikipedia article about it here -

It caused much consternation at the time.

Of cause some landlords still wanted to charge their tenants rent for the eleven
missing days but of course employers refused to meet the demands of
employees who wanted payment for them. :lol:

Hi Gaz,

Seeing you are exceptionally au feit with "Calendars", is there any way you can arrange for there to be 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays every month of every year? My trading figures would be sensational, my Board of Directors would think I was a genius and I could easily justify a request for a doubling of my Salary :)
