Upped the focal length this morning, and imaged our local star in H-Alpha

I'm looking at it on my 32" LED TV. Which doubles as a pretty damn good monitor. What a sight that was when io opened up your link!

Very nice Peter acted as a good guide for what I could make out (with lower resolution) through my 60mm Ha scope.

Better put a warning on that there image! Almost burnt out both my retinas. Very nice, though, I must say. Ah, to have so much aperture... :jawdrop:

Thanks Guys!!
I have to say I am humbled by the positive responses to this image....'tis a pity I didn't get the prominence data.
Sadly, no reprise in the short term, as work has me away from the land of Oz for the bulk of next week.
Maybe the full (solar) enchilada next time! :)

That's great. These solar shots are fabulous, especially the ones with the prominences.
I saw your Shuttle across the sun shot. That was really a clever image and very impactful.
Is any of it done with your AP155 or is it all the solar scope?
I saw an ad on Astromart where a guy had setup a TOA130 as a solar scope with the Ha filter and adapters. It could be a nice setup.

Thanks Greg, this was indeed done with the venerable AP155.... the nice thing about using a filter rather than a dedicated solar scope is you can easily change scopes hence FL's.
