A greeting to all
This moon for me has been very prolific, and perhaps this weekend remains to be exploited :D. Also because of a very unusual weather at this time in Italy, where I skied until two weeks ago there are now 25 ° C and a nice high pressure as if it were summer :screwy:.
Despite the annoying wind that ruined the roundness of the stars :mad2:, I was able to photograph this beautiful galaxy, M51 with its companion collide:

Not being able to go further with the details I cared very much part of the colors by trying a new method based on the teachings of the great Adam Block.
To you the result for the comments.
Thanks for looking.
Ciao,
Leo

Lovely image. Some resident noise in the larger resolution image but the detail of the galaxy is fantastic. Well done, even with the wind affected stars.

Hi Leonardo, incredible image for an 8" scope, colors are as rich as they can get and overall details are amazing. Pity the wind didn't help you, nevertheless I don't see the image was so much effected. Looking at very tiny details, perhaps the stars' core could be a tad less bright to better blend in the picture. But this is just a note at the edge, this remain perhaps the best M51 image ever taken with a telescope in this class if not higher.
Bravo!
Ciao
Marco

Marco the telescope is a 10" .... the rest has made sky of these beloved Alps (special thanks to you Rob) . If someone of you travel to north Italy let me know ...

You are so kind...i'm glad :)
:thanx:
I reprocessed the elongated star, the background (some granularity noise and ligth red gradient) and the galaxy cores with more contrast and reduced light for enanching structures ... this changes are made only on full resolution (100% of my ccd for 0.76"/px) ... this because i see the picture in a professional monitor of my friend and are totally different from my laptop .
All the best...
Leo
