The topic this month is: "a panorama".
This thread is only for posting your entries and any comments you'd like to make about your own photo.
If you would like to comment on other entries please use the comments thread.
As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.
The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.
The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic.
Good luck and good shooting.

This is my entry to the April Challenge.
This image was taken with my Nikon D300 and my new 11-16mm f2.8 lens.
it is a 4 image panoramic shot taken at the top of Siding Spring Mountain at 12:19am. Yes in the middle of the night. Last June Tont Buckley, Lachlan McDonald and I went to Coona to show the locals the Luna Eclipse. When we had finished with the scopes we went up to the Observatory to spend some time with Donna as it was her night on the 2.3M scope. While we were there Lachlan and I took advantage of our location and time to shoot some photos from the mountain top under full moon light.
If you look at the sky you can see stars.

Thought I would do something different....
An overhead pano at work in the lobby. I thought it - kinda sorta- looked like the HAL eye in 2001 space odyssey.
I took this a few nights ago. I also did some usual panos of the lobby, so please have a look at the "John West" rejects section.
I am amazed at how much time goes into getting these panos to work the way you want to!!!!!!!! hours and hours, but its all good!
To me it was a hard choice.......but being different was my goal!
Cheers

P.S. Al, If I had won last month, I had two topics in mind.....one was Panorama! Thanks;)
P.P.S. it looks off center, but strangely enough it is centered!!!! ( I measured it )

Ok guys, I've changed my entry.:)
This is a panorama of 4 images taken from Bartlett's Head just before sunset on Easter Saturday. The clifflines in the distance are Axehead Mountain and the Blue Breaks. In the mid-ground is part of the town of Yerranderie, and the in the background if you look hard you can see part of Lake Burragorang.

Here is my offering for the month. Taken some time ago at a photography workshop I went to at Cradle Mountain.
It's taken from atop Glacier Rock overlooking Dove Lake. To the left is obviously Cradle Mountain, in front is Marion's Lookout and beside the small beach is the famous Boat House.
I'll post another one of my Cradle Mountain Panos in the Reject's thread.

Turning North toward Komatsu - Japan. Managed to get a few clicks in as we turned, without obstruction from plane parts.
Here is my full moon panorama for the monthly challenge it's overlooking our young orchard and dam with a bit of the vege garden thrown in.:)
It's actually my first attempt at a panorama.

Hi,
Have been trying to get out and do some pano's but just haven't found the time this month and most likely won't so have had to go back through the archives.
This one is one from holidays in Kosciusko National Park.
Taken from Charlotte Pass this is a 5 shot stitched image, the weather was incredable with storms passing over and so with a break in the rain the wife and I jumped out of the car and took pictures and this is the result of one series I shot
.
Hope you like it.

This is 'A' Station, Central Power Station, Broken Hill N.S.W.
Decommissioned in 1986, it supplied the underground mines and surface
workings of all mines in the city.
Several relatives and friends of mine worked in this building over the decades.
Station B , almost identical in size to A, has been recently converted into
an outback Film Studio :)
5 panels stitched in Autostitch with manual settings.

car club meet
This is a hard one, as so many excellent photos posted from day 1, but anyway, took a few today down by the mangroves north of Townsville.
Alas, set off without hat and sunnies, and repellent - doh!! Came back hot and sweaty and a little bitten. :help:

Bit of a tricky one this month Al.
I had only one opportunity to do some capture this month and this is probably the best of the session. ANZAC square in Brisbane just before Easter.

I couldn't do a real panorama. The computer said no. I suppose this is a kind of panorama.
